   I have 2 daughters who liked Barbies up until several years ago. We bought all of ours at local auctions and by putting ads in our local papers and on Craigslist offering to buy used Barbies. We did very well on buying used dolls.
   We went to an auction and bought a footlocker full of all Mattel Barbies dolls and accessories for $10. It had 45 dolls in it and they were well taken care of.
   Craigslist offers free want ad listings and this works great.
   Also try flea markets
   Salvation army
   Goodwill
   Yard sales
   swap meets
   want ads
   classifieds

   I hate people who answer ebay as a reflex to any question – but in this case it is appropriate. People do sell off job lots of unwanted Barbies and clothes. Not just things that have been chewed up by kids, either – people who buy and collect dolls to mod and redesign sell and buy them on ebay a lot.

   Goodwill and Salvation Army stores usually have them for $1 or less.
   Big Lots stocks several lines of dolls for $5 each.

   You could Try Yard Sales. I have known people who have found BOXES full of Barbie stuff in great condition!
