I like using foamcore board when I am making scale models (I am an interior design student) because it is strong, unlike cardboard which bends easily. Just use a sharp razorblade to cut it. You can find it at craft stores like Michaels or in the craft department at Walmart/Taget... I also use a cutting mat (sometimes they come packaged WITH the razor cutter) to make sure my cuts are precise.

Ok Im in Archetictual Drafting so I do this all the time Foamboard is cheap but is very highly recommended for modeling what your doing for the walls. For the furniture you can buy Popcycle Sticks Big and small to use for the beds and even chairs. To cut use a exacto Knife it works better .

there's a website that you can make paper furniture and accessories from. you print the item, cut it out and fold it according to instructions. not all furniture pieces are there, but you may be able to get enough to use.http://www.printmini.com
