You can always go with the wooden dollhouses, they tend to last longer and don’t crumble like so many of the plastic versions. There are regular dollhouses and are larger size wooden ones that will fit barbie and bratz. You can find some cool ones here – http://www.atotspot.com/category-s/8.htm

I found a dollhouse at toys r us. It is a barbie brand doll house it lights up inside and makes all the noises associated with the sink toilet etc… It is a great present my daughter loves it check out toys r us.com it’s call the barbie dream house

How old is she? You could get one of those doll house kits that you put together as a project. They have them at Hobby Lobby. You get to wallpaper, carpet, etc.
They also have them on overstock.com.

You can look at a craft or hobby store locally. Many of them have the nicer wooden ones. Some are put together and others you’ll need to do yourself.
If she is really young, I suggest the Fisher Price Loving Family Doll houses. My daughter had the 3-story one and she and her brother never destroyed it. I did have to replace the batteries to the sound and light a few more times than I wanted, but it held up nicely. It is now over 5 years old.

Michael’s craft stores sell nicely constructed unfinished doll houses. It would be fun to paint the exterior and design the interiors with your daughter.
