I am giving my bf’s little girl the Barbie house my dad made for me but I need to update/remodel it. It’s a simple structure, 4 feet tall, 3 floors, 3 open sides. I want to put new wallpaper, carpet, paint, etc. But I also want to put some creative details to it. Any ideas?

09|Jul|2009 1If there is a HOBBY LOBBY in your area definitely go there and check out a good fabric store too. You could use the lining for kitchen drawers as wall paper for the house or floors, and carpet scraps to make door mats. Somewhere like Pier I, may have mini items for things like incense or candles, that you could use as vases or little artwork for the house.
Cloth napkins could be used as a floor rug or table cover. Cloth napkins come in so many designs, so this could be very cute! Look in Target, tjmaxx or a marshalls for those.
Places like Big Lots tend to carry Barbie Furniture that places like Toys R US doesn’t have too.

09|Jul|2009 2Most craft stores have miniatures and things to decorate dollhouses with, but I suggest you keep the redecorating to a minimum and let her help you finish it after you give it to her. Half the fun of having a dollhouse is decorating it!
