Hi lm 19 years old and well l have over 50 barbie dolls and l like to play with all of them and l have a room full of barbie stuff. I created a town in my room. I have 3 story houses, living rooms, cars , pools, evrything you can think of in a house or resort for dolls. The ceiling of the room looks like a sky, the walls all around are decorated with palm trees, beaches , birds, little people its like another world in there and when l go in there lm in there and playing there and imagining like lm part of that world. But l know lm 19 years old and l shouldnt be playing but l just want to know is this okay.
I have friends and l have a bf and they dont know about this.WHen they come to my house l never show them this room.I tell them its my moms storage room so they wont suspect.
Is it normal or wrong?
thanks.

17|Jan|2010 1Honeslty, some people might view it as immature, however, I think that everybody is different and has their own likes and dislikes. I think the room sounds cool myself and I am 25! LOL:) I think if you enjoy the room still you should disregard what others think. Have FUN!

17|Jan|2010 2I’m 21 and no to long ago my best friends and I used to play with one of my other friends barbies I was more like reminessing. It’s fun to do once in a while, my husband and I love to go to the toy stores and see and play with them. Not like sit at the table, I don’t think it’s werid at all

17|Jan|2010 3Nothing is wrong with you, I’m 12 and I still pull out my barbies every once and a while. Lets face it, some people just can’t grow out of things. I have an uncle who is over fifty and he still plays with toys. It’s nothing serious and your not insane. I bet if you ask some of your friends, they’ll tell you of their childhood things they have never given up.

17|Jan|2010 4Knock yourself out, babe. You’re not hurting anybody. There’s certainly nothing ‘wrong’ about it. What about grown men that have railway sets set up and they go and play with a whistle and cap on their head?
I actually think it’s lovely, a form of escape for you where you can forget about everything.

17|Jan|2010 5i used to love barbies so much. i don’t think it’s wrong. boys play video games. to get caught up in the game and be in another world and that’s what barbie does for girls.

18|Jan|2010 14You can do whatever you want. Who says you have to stop liking certain things because you age? I used to believe that. I recently stopped believing it.
Before, I looked down on people for doing childish things. All I got out of this attitude was being a smug jerk.
Now I can enjoy watching cartoons for young children. If I get stuck with some kids or there is nothing on television, I have more options. Before I simply couldn’t watch cartoons because they were “stupid.”
Entertainment is what you make of it. It’s all up to your imagination.

19|Jan|2010 15I don’t think there is anything wrong with it. Even though it seems kind of strange. It’s just a hobbie. People have different hobbies…I would say that you are a very artistic and creative person. Maybe you didn’t get the opportunity to do all this playing and decorating when you were little…I’m guessing. It’s like Michael Jackson, he grew up deprived of things that children do. He never got to play and be like other kids…at least that was what he said. So he created his own “children world” as a grown man…(Neverland). This might be your situation..don’t feel bad about it…you’re an artist and you have great talent
…everyone has his or her likes and dislikes. Barbies are beautiful. It’s too bad that society has made it seem like they’re just for little girls. Even my sister who is a year younger than you likes cartoons and dolls…big deal. By the way, I’m your age.
