I am giving a presentation in a couple days on whether or not it was right/justified for Nora to leave Torvald and the children. Need some interesting and fresh ideas from both sides, right now it’s just kind of boring usual stuff (although I like all ideas so don’t refrain from posting your idea just because you think I might find it boring/usual).

23|Feb|2010 1I can completely understand why she did leave. Torvald tells her how she’s an unfit mother and wife after he reads the letter so really, if that’s how he feels why would she stay?
I think it’s both right and wrong that she leaves.
I think that if she’s really going to be happy she needs to work out who she is and I don’t think she can do that whilst remaining with Torvald. He’s not a very nice guy. He places so many conditions on what she can and can’t do and that’s not probably the healthiest environment for a woman or anyone really, to be in.
It’s a little wrong because she’s just going to leave her children to be raised by a man who places so many conditions on his love and I doubt he’d be a very good father. But at the same time, if Nora doesn’t know who she is, would she be a good mother the the children?
