My poor dolls didn’t survive my childhood. Or should I say they didn’t survive my brother’s childhood? He gave them haircuts and tattoos. Even operated on a couple of them. I would cry and scream and beat him up but he always found a way to mutilate his next victim. I gave up on having a doll after about 1st or 2nd grade.
Mom did store (hide?) one of my dolls in a closet at her house for many years. It was a Betsy-Wetsy doll that I cuddled and loved when I was a little girl. It drank from a bottle and wet it’s diaper. She ended up with tattoos, like the rest of my dolls.

Of course. And my teddy.
My mum kept my doll that walks. She took her to the doll doctor one day and had her spruced up. She lets her grand daughters look at it sometimes.

I still have a ‘Toni’ doll that my aunts bought for me. You could curl it’s hair. It is a stiff doll, feels sort of like a heavy plastic and she isn’t in pristine condition, but I can’t give her up.

I got a new doll for Christmas every year, but they are all gone. When I graduated from high school, I joined the Army, my parents downsized their home and lots of things were disposed of.

No, all my dolls were destroyed by my brother and I gave away my Barbie, Midge, Ken Allen, Ricky , Skipper and Scooter, regret having done so. But I do have my very first stuffed monkey and he is 52 years now.

Yes I do. Do you remember the soft rubber dolls? I still have mine. I would play for hours with her. Mother would laugh at me because I named her “Mildew” don’t ask me why, I guess it was just a new word. Thanks for the memories.
