What Does This Quote Mean By Ibsen… (according To His Two Plays Hedda Gabler And A Dolls House?

I need to know how this ties into Hedda Gabler and a Dolls house by Ibsen. “woman are judged and condemned according to laws which they have had no hand in making.” Could anyone help me. I kind of have an idea based off of what i read in the plays but in not totally sure. Thanks

Man makes law for the woman as to what she should do, how she should behave etc. There is no participation of woman in the making of this law. The law is made by man only and woman are judged and condemned according to this law.
This shows that man wants woman to obey him silently.
