This must be required reading because Ibsen is like reading Kierkegaard or Hesse, load up on the anti-depressants first.

There are many questions in the play regarding the morality of the individual and the morality of society. If society deems it inappropriate, does that mean it’s not right? If a person puts aside their own well being for the sake of what others, or society, thinks, are they failing themselves, or fulfilling a duty?
While you’re looking at the questions posed in the play, consider the title. It was translated from Norwegian. Sometimes it’s translated as “A Doll’s House” and sometimes as “A Dolls House.” The placement of that apostrophe is telling. In the first case, it’s the home of one doll, one person who doesn’t really have control over her life and is being played with by others, In the second case, everyone is a doll. Everyone that comes into the house practically loses their free will and has to bend to the will of others. Just something to think about.
